Sophomores-to-be Terrell Jackson (running back) and Thor Pili (defensive lineman), along with redshirt freshmen Tucker Callahan (linebacker) and Levi Horn (offensive lineman), have indicated they will all transfer to schools yet to be determined in search of more playing time, Bellotti said.

Robbie Ziegler of Canby and Paul Peterson of Salem advanced in the boys 16-17 championship flight. Peterson defeated Eugene's Philip Bagdade 4 and 2, and Ziegler beat Bend's Andrew Vijarro 2 and 1.

In the boys 14-15 championship flight, Gaston De La Torre of Brush Prairie, Wash., beat Eugene's Robbie Pitts 4 and 3. Nick Chianello of Gresham defeated Jarek Swanson of Forest Grove 5 and 4.

Cole Weinhold and Sulman Raza, both of Eugene, will square off for the title in the intermediate boys 12-13 championship flight. Weinhold downed Tigard's Zachary Foushee on the 19th hole, and Raza topped Portland's Alex Hansung Kang 3 and 2.

Portland's Krieger wins Oregon Open in playoff

 defeated Christopher Smith of Pumpkin Ridge in a three-hole playoff Thursday to win the Oregon Open.

Krieger shot a final round 68 and finished tied at 205 with Smith, who carded a final round 70.

Birk Nelson of Diamond Woods Golf Club finished tied for third at 206 with a final round 67.

OSU's Casey lands another coaching honor

CORVALLIS - Oregon State coach Pat Casey earned Baseball America's 2006 Coach of the Year award after the Beavers won the NCAA NCAA

Casey has compiled a 391-253-4 record in 12 years at Oregon State.

Running back Strickland enrolls at Oregon State

CORVALLIS - Micah Strickland of Kaaawa, Hawaii has signed a financial aid agreement and is enrolled at Oregon State, according to head football coach Mike Riley.

The 6-foot 205-pound running back from Kahuku High School originally signed with San Diego State in 2005.

Keller powers Eugene at Papa's Pizza tourney

Jon Keller threw a five-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the first game, and had four hits in the second game as the Eugene Bi-Mart Challengers moved to 3-0 in the Papa's Pizza American Legion American Legion, national association of male and female war veterans, founded (1919) in Paris. Keller went the distance as Eugene beat the Vancouver Cardinals, 6-1. Shawn Peterson had two hits.
