Oregon State has received a letter of intent from standout receiver Reggie Dunn of Verbum Dei High School in Los Angeles, raising its list of signees to 33.

Rated with four stars on a scale of five by recruiting analysts, the 5-foot-9, 160-pound Dunn was described by Scout.com as `arguably the fastest player in the West this recruiting cycle.' He reportedly clocked at 4.28 time for 40 yards at USC's camp last summer.

A cousin of NFL running back Warrick Dunn, the speedster selected the Beavers over Arizona after also considering Arizona State and Washington in his final group of schools.

The Beavers still had no announcement Thursday on junior college offensive tackle Gerald Parker, who had changed his commitment from Louisville to OSU late in the process. The 6-7, 285-pound Parker is expected to sign with OSU.

set for wrestling dual

The Oregon wrestling team returns to McArthur Court today for the last time this season when the Ducks meet No. 18 Oregon State in a Civil War dual meet at 7 p.m.

The Beavers (14-2 overall, 6-1 league) will bring three nationally ranked wrestlers to Mac Court. Kyle Larson (141 pounds) and Jeremy Larson (174) are both ranked 19th in their respective weight classes in the National Wrestling Coaches Association poll, while heavyweight Ty Watterson is ranked sixth.

Watterson, who didn't wrestle in the Beavers' 33-6 win in the first Civil War meet back on Dec. 8 in Corvallis, will face Oregon (6-11, 1-7) senior Chris Dearmon, who is looking for his 50th career win.

in softball opener

SAN DIEGO - Brittany Knudsen's leadoff home run in the third inning provided all the offense San Diego State's softball team needed Thursday in a 1-0 victory over sixth-ranked Oregon State in the San Diego State Tournament.

Christina Ross scattered five hits in the season opener for both teams.

"Overall we pressed a little bit offensively and tried to be too perfect," Oregon State coach Kirk Walker said. "We had some opportunities, but we weren't able to come up with the big hit when we needed it."

Oregon State's Brianne McGowan struck out three and allowed three hits while missing out on her 76th career win.

Duck women's soccer

team brings in seven

Oregon's women's soccer team signed five players from California and two from Washington in its 2007 recruiting class.

Midfielder Kirstie Kuhns, a midfielder from Pleasanton, Calif., who was a U16 National Team pool player in 2005, will be joined by fellow Californians Sara Plutko of Upland, Marissa Rael of Alta Loma, and Jennifer Stoltenberg and Mercedes Walters of Mission Viejo. Oregon's Washington signees are Jill Jensen of Puyallup and Bree Rowe of Federal Way.

"This is a class with both soccer skill and soccer smarts," Oregon coach Tara Erickson said.
