Ore-Ida Teams with Hendrick Motorsports in Busch Series Sponsorship; Brian Vickers to Race Limited Schedule in Ore-Ida Chevrolet.


CONCORD, N.C. -- Hendrick Motorsports Hendrick Motorsports is a group of NASCAR racing teams started by Rick Hendrick in 1984 under the name "All Star Racing", racing only Chevrolets, racing in both the Nextel Cup and Busch Series circuits.  owner Rick Hendrick Joseph Riddick Hendrick III (born July 12, 1949 in Warrenton, North Carolina), better known as Rick Hendrick is an owner of several NASCAR stock cars and teams, as well as Hendrick Automotive Group[1], one of the largest automotive chains in the United States.  today announced that 21-year-old Brian Vickers Brian Lee Vickers is an American NASCAR driver, from Thomasville, North Carolina. Vickers was the 2003 Busch Series champion, and at age 20, the youngest champion in any of NASCAR's three top-tier series. He currently drives the #83 Red Bull Toyota Camry for Team Red Bull.  will return to the NASCAR NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing), organization that sanctions American stock-car races, est. 1948. It held its first race in Daytona Beach, Fla.  Busch Series The NASCAR Busch Series is a stock car racing series owned and operated by NASCAR. It is NASCAR's "minor league" circuit (often compared to Triple-A baseball), and is a proving ground for drivers who wish to step up to the organization's "big league" circuit, the Nextel Cup.  for four races in 2005 with support from primary sponsor Ore-Ida(R) and its Extra Crispy(TM) French-fry brand. As part of the agreement, Vickers will drive his four Busch Series races in Ore-Ida-wrapped No. 57 Chevrolets.

In addition to its support of Vickers' Busch Series appearances, Ore-Ida(R) will become a major associate partner of the No. 25 NEXTEL Cup The NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series is NASCAR's top racing series. It was formerly known as the Strictly Stock Series (1949), Grand National Series (1950-1971), and the Winston Cup Series (1972-2003).  Series team with Vickers as driver.

Vickers, the 2003 Busch Series champion is scheduled to make his first Busch Series start of 2005 at Lowe's Motor Speedway Lowe's Motor Speedway (formerly Charlotte Motor Speedway) is a speedway in Concord, North Carolina, north of Charlotte. It features a 1.5 mile long quad-oval track that seats 167,000 people, with room for 50,000 more spectators in the infield.  May 28, followed by events at Daytona International Speedway Daytona International Speedway is a superspeedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. During his first full season in the Busch Series while driving for Hendrick Motorsports, Vickers posted three wins, one pole position, 13 top-fives and 21 top-10 finishes en route to capturing the 2003 circuit championship. At age 20, the Thomasville, N.C., native became the youngest Busch Series champion in any of NASCAR's top-three touring divisions.
