Douglas Michels will host an on-site media briefing
following the Blood Products Advisory Committee (BPAC)
meeting on March 10, 2006, to address the outcomes and
next steps resulting from the BPAC discussion, as well as
the potential for an OTC rapid HIV test from OraSure. The
Company will be offering public comment at the BPAC
meeting. The media briefing will include an open Q&A
session for media, who may also participate via
teleconference.
OraSure is the manufacturer of OraQuick(R) ADVANCE(TM),
the first and only U.S. Food and Drug Administration
approved and CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvements
Amendments Act of 1988) waived rapid point-of-care test
that can detect antibodies to both HIV-1 and HIV-2 in 20
