Optovia and ADVA Optical Team Up; ADVA Expands Product Reach with Optovia's Award-winning Optical Line Systems.

Under the agreement, ADVA will expand the reach of their Fiber Service Platform (FSP) 3000 scalable optical transport solution by integrating Optovia's award-winning Hut Skip(TM) and SpanExpress(TM) line system solutions. The combined offering will allow ADVA to offer service providers and large enterprises a flexible, cost-effective system delivering farther reach and significant total cost of ownership savings.

ADVA's FSP 3000 is a scalable Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) system specifically designed for service providers and large enterprises that require a flexible, cost-effective system that will multiplex, transport and protect high-speed data, storage, voice and video applications. Service providers today deploy the FSP 3000 to maximize the bandwidth and service flexibility of their access, metro core and regional networks, while supporting new revenue opportunities for high-speed Ethernet and managed SAN services.

Optovia's Hut-Skip Line System solution radically improves the economics of conventional optical networks by eliminating 50% of network line amplifier sites and their associated operational costs, delivering the lowest total cost of ownership of any optical line system on the market today. From carriers to cable companies to enterprise networks, the vast majority of network routes greater than 1000 kilometers in length in North America, Europe and Asia benefit greatly from the site elimination achieved with Optovia's Hut Skip solution. Current deployments have addressed the Fortune 100 enterprise market initially.
