Optibase, Ltd. (Nasdaq:OBAS), a leader in digital video streaming solutions over broadband networks, today announced the general availability of its third generation MediaPump family, a family of PCI-based open system Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) transport stream multiplexer products.

MediaPump is designed to provide high performance MPEG-2 transport stream processing capabilities and is the OEMs' choice for digital video server applications such as video-on-demand, ad insertion and interactive TV. By incorporating the company's expertise gained in providing advanced digital video processing solutions, Optibase's newly released MediaPump sets new price and performance benchmarks for the industry.

Optibase will demonstrate MediaPump's capabilities at the upcoming National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas (booth number S7223), April 7-11.

By connecting PCI-based video servers directly to a broad array of MPEG-2 multiplexer, encoding and transmission equipment, MediaPump serves as a gateway for integrating end-to-end digital video systems. MediaPump supports MPEG-2 transport stream applications with a wide range of industry standard and vendor specific proprietary and DVB compliant interfaces, used within the digital media marketplace. It also offers MPEG-2 transport stream processing including high performance multiplexing and patented MediaSplice(TM) technology, which enable seamless real-time splicing and multiplexing of single program transport streams into a multi-program transport stream. The ability to install multiple MediaPump boards in the same server combined with its on-board transport stream processing, allows MediaPump to scale well with the needs of intensive video applications.
