Staffing Center now features built-in minimum nurse-to-patient ratios that allow the software to monitor and project adequate staffing levels on an hour-by-hour basis. This enables nurse managers to quickly determine if individual units are properly staffed based on the actual number of patients and their latest acuity, which indicates how much care they require.

New safe staffing reporting capabilities include a Title XXII Compliance Report that shows an acuity index for each shift; required staffing vs. actual staffing levels; licensed staff-to-patient ratios; and the percentage of professional licensed staff providing patient care. The Hospital Ratio Compliance Report is an administrative summary of nursing unit compliance, or non-compliance, with licensed staff-to-patient ratios for a given time period. In addition, nurse managers can create charts that depict de·pict

"Many California hospitals still have not implemented a reliable and easy-to-use staffing and patient classification system to help them comply with AB394," said Deborah K. Wall, executive vice president and co-founder of OptiLink Healthcare Management Systems.
