OptiLED Continues Worldwide Expansion with New Tokyo Office; Company's Growth Mirrors LED Demand in Japanese Market.

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 25, 2004

OptiLED, the leading manufacturer of innovative light emitting diode See LED.  (LED) lighting systems, continued its international growth and expansion today by opening its first office in Japan.

The Tokyo office marks the company's fourth international location and second in the Pacific Rim Pacific Rim, term used to describe the nations bordering the Pacific Ocean and the island countries situated in it. In the post–World War II era, the Pacific Rim has become an increasingly important and interconnected economic region. , one of the fastest growing LED markets. The opening of the new office follows a successful 2003 for OptiLED, marked by triple-digit growth, the launch of industry leading products and the opening of the Asia Pacific and European regional offices giving a truly global reach and perspective on the LED market.

Hiromitsu Nagoshi takes on the role of Managing Director Japanese Operations and will head the Tokyo office. Mr. Nagoshi spent the last 21 years with GP Electronics (HK) Ltd in Hong Kong Hong Kong (hŏng kŏng), Mandarin Xianggang, special administrative region of China, formerly a British crown colony (2005 est. pop. 6,899,000), land area 422 sq mi (1,092 sq km), adjacent to Guangdong prov. . He has traveled and worked extensively in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the U.S. and brings 35 years of manufacturing and sales development experience in advanced products to this role.
