Leading Online Travel Service Chooses Business Objects to Optimize

Operations and Strengthen Customer and Partner Relationships

Business Objects (Nasdaq:BOBJ), the world's leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced that Opodo, an online travel service owned by nine of Europe's leading airlines, has selected Business Objects as the enterprise business intelligence standard across its European operations. Opodo is using a solution from Business Objects to gain an integrated view of information on all areas of its business, in order to optimize operational performance and make improvements to benefit its online travel community.

The contract includes BusinessObjects(TM), the integrated query, reporting, and analysis solution for the enterprise, and WebIntelligence(R), the web-based BI solution from Business Objects, to access and analyze information that will drive sales productivity, customer service, and profitability and marketing initiatives. This includes analysis of the vast amounts of customer, purchasing, and partner data on Opodo's website, which spans over 400 airlines, 30,000 hotel properties, and a fleet of over 750,000 rental cars.

Opodo is also using Business Objects BI solutions to monitor key business performance metrics Performance metrics are measures of an organizations activities and performance. Performance metrics should support a range of stakeholder needs from customers, shareholders to employees [1].  via a dashboard that is available on the company intranet. This is helping the company to track, understand, and manage how the organization is performing against both day-to-day and strategic corporate goals. Furthermore, Opodo has licensed BusinessObjects Broadcast Agent(TM), an intelligent enterprise information delivery server, to automate the regular delivery of personalized reports via the web and email to both users internally and to partner airlines and hotels.
