Opening of the Dolomex Quarry, Mazarin Diversifies its Source of Income.

QUEBEC--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 28, 1996--MAZARIN MINING CORP.(ME, TSE: MAZ ) Mr. Jacques Bonneau, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Societe miniere Mazarin Inc., and Mr. Clement Renaud, President of Dolomex, have inaugurated the dolomite quarry - Dolomex Inc. - a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mazarin, with many dignitaries and guests attending the event. The dolomite deposit is located in Portage-du-Fort, in the Outaouais region.

Dolomex is proud to participate actively in creating jobs through this major investment.

Annual revenues totalling several million dollars are expected to be generated over the next few years. Thanks to Mazarin's support, to the scope of the quarry and the expanding market of pelletized products, there are important growth projects associated with this project.

Dolomite is a calcium magnesium carbonate occurring in sedimentary rock. It is used mainly for making flat glass, agricultural lime and decorative aggregate. Dolomex will further increase the mineral's capability, since dolomite will be used also manufacture roofing powder, polish powder and agricultural fertilizers either in pellet or granule form. Dolomite is a high-quality product owing to its outstanding characteristics: good neutralizing capacity, low-grade silica and whiteness.
