Open eBook Forum Announces the Election of Two New Members to the Board of Directors.

Introduced in 1999 and officially known as the "Open eBook Publication Structure Specification" (OEBPS), Open eBook publications are not read directly by an e-book  Forum (OeBF) (www.openebook.org), the leading international electronic book trade association, is pleased to announce the additions of Ed McCoyd and Tom Diaz Tom Diaz is a senior policy analyst at the Violence Policy Center and is one of the more prominent advocates for a strict system of federal gun control in the United States.  to its Board of Directors.

Elected to their positions through a vote of the principal membership, Mr. McCoyd, Director of Digital Policy at the Association of American Publishers (body, publication) Association of American Publishers - (AAP) A group engaged in standardisation efforts in document preparation.  (AAP AAP - Association of American Publishers ), has acquired an at-large seat on the OeBF board, and Mr. Diaz, Senior Engineering Manager, eBook Development Group with Adobe Systems Adobe Systems Incorporated (pronounced a-DOE-bee IPA: /əˈdoʊbiː/) (NASDAQ: ADBE) (LSE: ABS) is an American computer software company headquartered in San Jose, California, USA.  Incorporated, is the OeBF's new Treasurer.

Mr. McCoyd's responsibilities at AAP have included working with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting See Accenture. ) on a project to create proposed standards and recommendations in the areas of identification, metadata, and digital rights management for ebooks. Prior to working at AAP, Ed served for six years as Director of Legal Services legal services n. the work performed by a lawyer for a client.  at the Authors Guild.

Mr. Diaz brings close to 30 years of experience with technical editing and publishing, as well as computer system design. Most recently, he was a co-founder, Treasurer, and VP at Glassbook, Inc., a software pioneer in the ebook industry, which was acquired by Adobe Systems in September of 2000.
