 World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for IT markets, announced today that it is now accepting submissions for the semi-annual Open Source Product Excellence Awards, to be presented at the upcoming LinuxWorld Conference & Expo. The awards will recognize the most innovative Open Source products and services at LinuxWorld, which is scheduled for January 29 - February 1, 2002 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center Jacob K. The Open Source Product Excellence Awards are presented in conjunction with UniForum, a vendor-neutral association that advocates the practices and benefits of open technologies and related hardware, software, applications and standards. UniForum and IDG World Expo will present awards for Best Developer Tools, Best Network/Server Application, Best Embedded Linux The Linux operating system configured and enhanced to work in a wide variety of applications, including handheld devices, network appliances, industrial machines and consumer electronics devices.
