Open Source Business Conference Kicks Off on Tuesday, April 5 in San Francisco.

(TM), the premier event for Open Source software and business, also announced the dates for the 2006 event in San Francisco. It will take place two months earlier next year, running February 14-15, 2006.

With panel and speaking tracks designed for IT enterprise customers and vendors as well as legal, venture and investment professionals, the event is the premier venue for unveiling and discussing Open Source market strategies at the world's largest Open Source customers, information technology firms and the industry's most promising emerging start-ups.

Last year 20 startups participated in this track and most have since received funding. In many instances, the connection between startup and venture capital was made at OSBC.

Approximately 25 startups will be selected from an estimated pool of 150+ potential Open Source startups, and these companies will be on display. The Showcase is the ideal forum for IT buyers to see the next generation of IT providers. Awards will also be presented during the show for the top companies in the Showcase.
