Open Country Joins Open Management Consortium; Advocates of Open Source work toward common goals.

 next-generation systems management software, and official sponsor of the Webmin project, announced today it has become a member of the Open Management Consortium, a group formed in May of this year to help advance the promotion, adoption, development and integration of Open Source systems/network management software.

Open Country joins founding members Ayamon, Emu Software, Qlusters, Symbiot, Webmin, and Zenoss, business ventures that all strongly advocate Open Source.

Objectives of the Open Management Consortium include creating awareness of Open Source management tools in the market; providing education and resources to help end users make informed decisions regarding Open Source; establishing conventions and standards that enable integration and interoperability; enabling collaboration and coordination on common development projects; and promoting collaborative Open Source systems management solutions.
