Opawica Explorations Inc. Company Update.

GHANA, WEST AFRICA 

Opawica Explorations Inc. (the "Company") announces that drilling as well as surface sampling on the Company's 375 sq km Asankrangwa license and surface sampling on the 1,500 sq km Enchi-Wiawso is proceeding.

Golden Shamrock Mines Ltd. may earn a 60 percent interest in the above licenses by expending $4,000,000 CDN prior to October 31, 1999. The 15,000 meter program on Asankrangwa is designed to test two parallel soil geochemical anomalies between 7 to 10 km long and up to 2.5 km wide. A total of 300 holes have been drilled to date to aggregate 9,000 meters of rotary air blast (RAB) drilling within 20 meters of surface on the Eastern Anomaly. Gold results have been sufficiently encouraging to require in-fill RAB drilling on the wide spread initial pattern of the Eastern Anomaly. Deeper core or reverse circulation drilling is immediately being planned. The Western Anomaly which is 7 km in length and up to 2.5 km in width is presently being drilled with results expected by the first week of June, 1996.

In addition, extensions to the Asankrangwa surface soil grab sampling grid have been completed. Assays for most of the Asankrangwa soil sampling, that have been taken from areas separate and outside from the current drilling, indicate a lack of significant gold values to warrant follow-up work at this time.

At Opawica's 1,500 sq km Enchi-Wiawso license, field crews have mobilized and completed extensions to last years Surano surface grid, covering the strike continuation of Reunion Mining's surface gold mineralization into Opawica's Enchi-Wiawso ground. Furthermore, surface soil geochemical sampling is also concentrating on the north Tano grid of Enchi-Wiawso.

At the southern end of Enchi-Wiawso aeromagnetics and radiometric data suggest the main Sewfi Belt/Kumasi Basin contact is within Opawica's Enchi-Wiawso property. To test this potential target stream sediment sampling will be carried out prior to surface outcrop sampling.

ARGENTINA, SOUTH AMERICA 

The Company further announces that it has entered into several option agreements to acquire up to 15,000 contiguous hectares of property (the "Property") in western San Juan Province, Argentina. The acquisitions are subject to regulatory approval.

The Property is located within the active southern portion of the El Indio gold belt, has road access and can be explored year round.

The Company may earn a 100 percent interest in the entire Property by making cash payments of $400,000 US over the next four years.

The immediate area encompassing the Property hosts several historic high grade gold, silver, lead and zinc mines that produced intermittently between the early 1900's and 1960's.

The Property hosts a well exposed epithermal system on surface. The main target is the majority of an intensely altered body that is about 12 km long and 5 km wide. There are several other important targets including mineralized hydrothermal breccias, vein systems and disseminated pyritization with associated copper staining in less altered rock.

Limited grab sampling conducted in 1990 yielded values up to 4 g/t Au and 3 g/t Ag in the hydrothermal breccias.

Recently, on the northern end of the Property Opawica's field crew grab sampled silicified altered volcanics that yielded values between 2 and 7 g/t with associated silver values.

The Company plans a four month, phase I, $350,000 CDN surface exploration program to commence by mid-June, 1996. The program will consist of mapping, surveying, reconnaissance and surface sampling with a phase II follow up trenching and drilling program contingent upon phase I results.

Finally, the Company has planned a reconnaissance program to investigate 30 hydrothermal alteration systems in northwestern Argentina, including the submittal of an offer to acquire an interest in a 45 sq km gold property in Catamarca Province near Baja de la Lumbrera.
