Intermittent spot highs and a narrow anomalous zone located on the western portion of Totua has been encountered. The most interesting feature is a reasonably continuous band of en-echelon gold anomalies some 300 to 500 m wide and stretching 5,000 m from Agona village to Dominase village. Seven trenches comprising a total of 135 m(405 cu. m) are now substantially complete. Thirty further trenches are planned to test all of the main gold anomalies. Follow-up trenching along strike of the more promising anomalies may be required. The Operator, Ashanti Goldfields n. 1. A small slender woolly annual (Lasthenia chrysostoma) with very narrow opposite leaves and branches bearing solitary golden-yellow flower heads; it grows from Southwestern Oregon to Baja California and Arizona; - it is often cultivated. Company Limited ("AGCL AGCL Automatic Ground-Controlled Landing AGCL Association of GCRC Core Laboratories ") is proceeding to engage at least two additional trenching crews to accelerate the program making all field data available prior to the end of September, 1997. Field crews and Totua license staff presently consists of 27 people. Initial results from the first seven of approximately 37 trenches have not yielded widespread economic gold values. Results to date have demonstrated gold background in the saprolitised phyllite phyllite Fine-grained metamorphic rock formed by the recrystallization of fine-grained, parent sedimentary rocks, such as mudstones or shales. Phyllite has a marked tendency to split into sheets or slabs; it may have a sheen on its surfaces due to tiny plates of micas. country rock is commonly quite high at .1 to .4 g/t with some local higher grade values. Higher grade values are predominately associated with narrow quartz veinlets. A 1 m sample over one such vein in trench D-TRN1A returned an average 42 g/t Au, Trench D-TRN1 gave three 1 m intercepts grading better than 1 g/t Au, two of which combined with adjacent samples returned 7 m at .68 g/t. AGCL may earn a 60 percent interest in Totua and the 1,500 sq. km Enchi-Wiawso license (the "Tenements") by spending US $3,000,000 prior to October 20, 1999. Northwestern Argentina: Over 300 rock chip and stream sediment samples were taken and analyzed from 12 areas. Four of these areas yielded anomalous Ag, Pb, Zn and Ba mineralization Mineralization The process by which the body uses minerals to build bone structure. From the four areas that yielded positive results, the Sierra de Quichagua appears to have the most obvious exploration potential based on the presence of layered base metal mineralization associated with historical mine workings. A phase II surface sampling program has commenced on the four areas as well as other areas of Northwestern Argentina. Additional surface field work will also be conducted, over the next 60 days, on seven further base-precious metal target areas in Central and Southern Argentina. Overall in Argentina, Opawica's specific target areas are within an aggregate 3,000 sq. km of favorable geology for Cu, Zn, Pb, Ag and Au mineralization. Surface field work will be conducted on these targets which range from Jujuy Province Jujuy is a province of Argentina, located in the extreme northwest of the country, at the borders with Chile and Bolivia. El Alisal; 320 sq. km; Work completed on the El Alisal property consisting of stream sediment and limited chip sampling yielded negative results for Cu and Au mineralization. Based on the negative results of Opawica's most recent sampling, it is the Company's view that published results from previous field work, on El Alisal, conducted by local Provincial entities and others are unreliable. The Company will not make further field expenditures on El Alisal at this time. CONTACT: Opawica Explorations Inc. Dan M. Clark, 416/597-1480 416/597-1479 (FAX) E-mail: Opawica@istar.ca |
