For other uses, see Kenora (disambiguation). Kenora (2006 population 15,177), originally named Rat Portage, is a small city situated on the Lake of the Woods in northwestern Ontario, Canada close to the Manitoba . On December 9, 2005 the Company announced gold and copper assay results from the first eleven holes of the 18 hole program. The following new results are from hole OPW-9 for copper only which was drilled below an historic open pit as well as gold-copper assays for holes 12 through 18 inclusive. Holes OPW-12 to OPW-18 and OPW-6 (9.85m of 5.001 g/t Au with 2.64% Cu and commencing 3m further down hole, 10m of 2.802 g/t Au with 5.487% Cu) were all drilled outside of the reported historic mineral resource associated with the above noted open pit where past mining operations were conducted by previous operators. In addition, OPW holes 12 to 16 were drilled for geology and mineralization Mineralization The process by which the body uses minerals to build bone structure. Mentioned in: Rickets mineralization, n the bioprecipitation of an inorganic substance. without the benefit of modern surface or down hole geophysics geophysics, study of the structure, composition, and dynamic changes of the earth, its atmosphere, hydrosphere and magnetosphere, based on the principles of physics. . OPW-9 drilled under the historic open pit to a core length of 82m contained anomalous gold values and copper mineralization between 15m and 82m including 1.447 % Cu from 21.10m to 21.28m and 1.526 % Cu from 23.70m to 31.80m (8.1m)(including 1.5m of 3.826 % Cu from 25.20m to 26.70m). In addition, from 38.75m to 55.20m returned 1.033 % Cu and 1.866 g/t Au (including 7.726 g/t Au between 46.75m to 49.75m). OPW-12 collared 50 feet south of OPW-6 contained 152m of highly anomalous copper and gold values consisting of 0.167 g/t Au and 0.204% Cu., including 1.35% Cu over 1.6m at a depth of approximately 60m. OPW-13 collared 50 feet south and 50 feet east of OPW-12 contained no significant mineralization. OPW-14 collared at the same drill set up as OPW-13 and flattened flat·ten v. flat·tened, flat·ten·ing, flat·tens v.tr. 1. To make flat or flatter. 2. OPW-15 Collared 50 feet north of OPW-13 and OPW-14 returned 0.882 g/t Au and 0.410 % Cu over 34.7 meters at a vertical depth of about 50m, including 3.48 g/t Au and 1.07 % Cu over 4.5m from 82.3m to 86.8m. OPW-16 collared 50 feet north of OPW-15 sampled from 68.0m to 78.5m and from 83.6m to 103.8m returned an overall average of 0.2 g/t Au and .303 % Cu, including 0.420 g/t Au and 1.45 % Cu over 1.5m from 94.8m to 96.3m OPW-17 missed its target due to repositioning repositioning Laparoscopic surgery The changing of a Pt's position during a procedure to improve access or visualization of the operative field, which may be linked to complications, as it changes anatomic planes of operation. Cf Laparoscopic surgery. of the drill rig to avoid a boulder field at bedrock leaving a large untested anomaly to be drilled in the next phase of drilling. No significant mineralization was encountered in this hole. OPW-18 drilled to a core length of 209m contained anomalous gold and copper values throughout including 1.98 g/t Au and 2.335 % Cu over 3.8 m from 46.5m to 50.3m. The true widths of the above zones have not yet been determined. Holes 12 to 16 were high risk exploration targets. The widespread gold and copper mineralization from these holes warrant further investigation by down hole geophysics and drilling in a phase II exploration program. Three other known zones on the property will also be tested in the phase II exploration program which is expected to commence in the next 60 days. The Company believes that there is potential of identifying further gold and copper resources outside and beneath of the historic Inferred Mineral Resource of 2,824,825 tons of 1.18% copper and .08 ounces per ton gold. This historic Mineral Resource has been drilled to a vertical depth of only 150m. The Inferred Mineral Resource has not been sufficiently drilled to have economic considerations applied to them to enable such resources to be categorized cat·e·go·rize tr.v. cat·e·go·rized, cat·e·go·riz·ing, cat·e·go·riz·es To put into a category or categories; classify. cat as reserves. Until there is additional drilling to upgrade the historic Inferred Mineral Resource to Measured and Indicated Resources there can be no certainty that the preliminary assessment will be realized. Accordingly, the Company is not presently treating the Inferred Mineral Resource estimates as NI 43-101 Defined Resources. The Company will now proceed with further work in order to complete a 3-D Mine Model which will include all historic and current drill data, assay data and upcoming geophysics. This will enable further drilling on new targets and to better define the known mineralization on the property. It is expected that this work will be completed over the next six months.
