Onward into battle![ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] MISSION STATEMENT I GREW UP skating the same park everyday and would see all these other sick spots around the world in the mag and hear stories from other skaters about traveling, which made me think, "I'm going to do that." So when the opportunity arose, I bought a plane ticket and flew to Europe. I had about a month to go wherever I wanted and skate all that I could. My only agenda was to meet up with Bad Shit and Nihilist ni·hil·ism n. 1. Philosophy a. An extreme form of skepticism that denies all existence. b. A doctrine holding that all values are baseless and that nothing can be known or communicated. 2. in Prague on Friday the 13th Friday the 13th regarded as unlucky day. [Western Folklore: Misc.] See : Luck, Bad . I arrived and decided, "I'm going go skate Marseille today," and I hopped on a train and went. The only way to do it is to go with the flow and move fast. Some locals told me that Motorhead was touring and the next show was in Switzerland, so right then and there I grabbed my stuff and headed out. I got in and ended up walking away with Lemmy's pick. When it came time to decide where to move next, I thought, "Swisserland is close to Austria," so I went to Brixlegg. There's a Dreamland dream·land n. 1. An ideal or imaginary land. 2. Noun 1. dreamland - a pleasing country existing only in dreams or imagination dreamworld, never-never land park there that's pretty fun, but full of weird skaters who kind of killed it. I didn't stay long; the time for Bad Shit and Nihilist to play in Prague was getting close so I kept moving. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] FIRST ATTACK BY THE TIME I got to the skatepark in Prague where the show was, there were people setting up the stage right between the street course and the bar--perfect combination for a skate rock Skate rock is mainly a term used for rock, punk, emo and heavy metal bands, generally from the 1980s and the 1990s, who were involved in the sport of skateboarding. Some prime examples of skate rock bands are McRad, JFA, the Faction, the Big Boys, Agent Orange, Suicidal Tendencies, show. Kids were wearing Bad Shit shirts from the previous year with an idea of what to expect. The bands came on and sang about how everyone is going to die and you're probably next, while still leaving the crowd stoked stoked adj. Slang 1. Exhilarated or excited. 2. Being or feeling high or intoxicated, especially from a drug. . It hyped up hyped up Adjective Old-fashioned slang stimulated or excited by or as if by drugs all the skaters for the contest the next day. A girl stepped up and feebled a 10-stair after taking some serious slams. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] SECOND WAVE WE WENT TO COPENHAGEN next, where the drums were already set up on the deck of the bowl. The bands started playing and the session got intense. The kids there love to snake each other; even if there's just two people skating they'll drop in on you. One kid broke his leg on the first day of his vacation. Bad shit happens "Shit happens" is a common slang phrase, used as a simple existential observation that life is full of imperfections, or "C'est la vie". The minced oath form is "stuff happens". It is an acknowledgment that bad things happen to people for no particular reason. . The next day we took a day trip to Sweden so we could skate the park in Malmo, and some locals drove us out to their DIY DIY abbr. do-it-yourself DIY or d.i.y. Brit, Austral & NZ do-it-yourself DIY abbr DIY do it yourself a DIY shop/job. bowl in some wasteland. Then they left us there. Thanks, bros. If I drove some people who had no idea where they were out to some weird spot, I'd give them a ride back; but I guess there are goons everywhere you go. I hit the train south back to Berlin to meet up with the guys who flew. I made good time, but some asshole cab driver cab·driv·er also cab driver n. One who drives a taxicab for hire. cab driver n → taxista m/f cab driver n → drove me the wrong direction so I ended up missing Bad Shit. According to the locals, though, they played a better set in Prague so I guess it's alright. Nihilist set up and played their usual mixture of originals and covers, while the local kids started some weirdo pit.
