Ontrack Data Recovery Introduces PowerControls(TM) Version 4.1; New Software Version Offers Unique Content Analysis Function for Multiple Data Stores.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Ontrack Data Recovery(TM) today announced the availability of Ontrack(R) PowerControls(TM) 4.1 software, the newest version of its widely used mailbox A simulated mailbox in the computer that holds e-mail messages. Mailboxes are stored on disk as a file of messages, a database of messages or as an individual file for each message. The standard mailboxes are usually In, Out, Trash and Junk (Spam).  recovery tool. This upgraded version helps Microsoft(R) Exchange administrators save time and deliver better recovery performance with powerful new content analysis functionality, message viewing capabilities, and expanded backup format support. With email searching on the rise, the new options in PowerControls broaden its function to allow administrators more robust email management possibilities.

"In today's highly regulated environment, businesses have no shortage of reasons to search through their old email," said Jim Reinert, senior director of Software and Services for Ontrack Data Recovery. "Whether they need to produce old messages for regulatory compliance, archive legacy email, or assist with a business project, companies typically have a lot of old mail to filter through, and most often that mail is stored in several different places. The content analysis capabilities in PowerControls 4.1 enable the user to perform complex operations on combinations of data sources rather than performing the operations one at a time. Administrators can use the content analysis tool to work offline from their production server, minimizing the time needed to filter specific messages."

PowerControls 4.1 contains all of the features and benefits of the current product, plus additional new features including:

Content Analysis

PowerControls allows administrators to create any number of customized Content Analysis Stores (CAS), facilitating content, time period, and in-depth investigative analysis of their Exchange data. Each CAS is a "container" that can contain one or more data sources and one or more Profiles. CAS data sources can be an entire EDB file, a single EDB mailbox, or a single EDB folder In a graphical user interface (GUI), a simulated file folder that holds data, applications and other folders. Arrange Messages by Message Table View

This feature allows the administrator to see all folders that reference a single message. This is helpful for analyzing the Single Instance Storage (SIS) feature of Exchange server.
