Ontario recognizes colleges and agencies for Job Connect program quality.


TORONTO -- The Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities announced its Awards for Excellence to colleges and non-profit agencies that deliver the Job Connect Program which helps people plan, prepare for and succeed in the job market.

The awards are:

Gold award for service quality and innovation: Durham Region Unemployed Help Centre, Oshawa; and the Sudbury YMCA YMCA
 in full Young Men's Christian Association

Nonsectarian, nonpolitical Christian lay movement that aims to develop high standards of Christian character among its members.
 Employment and Career Services; Silver: Lake of the Woods Lake of the Woods, 1,485 sq mi (3,846 sq km), c.70 mi (110 km) long, on the U.S.-Canada border in the pine forest region of N Minn., SE Man., and SW Ont. No organization qualified for the Service Innovation Award this year.

The Job Connect Program. serves more than 125,000 people through 127 sites in 80 communities in the province.
