"There are some government and business activities where RapidRedact will quickly become an essential and practical administration tool," Ms Roth said, "helping these companies meet requirements for privacy and freedom of information legislation, as well as other compliance obligations."

"RapidRedact ensures the reporting and disclosure of essential information only," she said, "and plays an extremely important role in protecting both a company's own, and third party, information."

Legal firms and technology companies can electronically file briefs or patents after using RapidRedact to ensure that private or privileged information is not inadvertently released into the public arena.

The same benefit would apply to manufacturers who need to protect commercially sensitive process and confidential specifications to maintain their competitive edge. "Other areas where the software would prove an invaluable tool," she said, "include human resource management, and the drugs industry where new drug information has to be protected during the research and testing phase."
