Only sweeper is mechanical.

P shepherd (Viewpoints, March 31) asks where all the extra sweepers are, supposedly provided by last year's council tax rise. Not seen in Roath! Well, they are not in Canton Canton, cities, United States
Canton.

1 City (1990 pop. 13,922), Fulton co., W central Ill., in the corn belt; inc. 1849. It is a trade and industrial center for a coal and farm area.

2 Town (1990 pop. 18,530), Norfolk co.
 either! Here in Pen-y-peel Road we have a dinky little mechanical sweeper which comes religiously every Monday morning. It goes down one side of the street, turns round at the bottom and comes up the other side of the street. Never touches the gutters - it can't because of all the cars parked both sides.

A man with a brush would be wonderful. At least he would be able to get at the gutters.

We live in hope.

Ann Follett Pen-y-peel Road, Canton, Cardiff Canton (Welsh: Treganna) is an inner-city area of west Cardiff, Wales. The name (from "St. Canna's Town") refers to the 6th century female saint after whom Pontcanna is also named.
