Only sweeper is mechanical.

P shepherd (Viewpoints, March 31) asks where all the extra sweepers are, supposedly provided by last year's council tax rise. Not seen in Roath! Well, they are not in Canton either! Here in Pen-y-peel Road we have a dinky little mechanical sweeper which comes religiously every Monday morning. It goes down one side of the street, turns round at the bottom and comes up the other side of the street. Never touches the gutters - it can't because of all the cars parked both sides.

A man with a brush would be wonderful. At least he would be able to get at the gutters.
