One man and his dog head north.
John Heavey, of Whitburn Road, will set off from Sweden and trek to the edge of the Arctic Ocean, pulled by a team of six to eight huskies.
Provided 34-year-old John can sort out his passport, he will be accompanied by his five-year-old husky, Cobi Jones.
John, a telecommunications engineer, said: "I'm going as part of a 12- strong team, and between us we're hoping to raise pounds 60,000 for the Disabled Living Foundation.
"They install equipment in people's houses to make it easier for them to get around, helping to give them back independence."
John and Cobi will fly to Stockholm at the beginning of March next year, before heading off, via snow plane, for Kiruna in northern Sweden.
From there they will start their journey to the ocean.
John said: "I've had Cobi since he was a puppy, and named him after the Sky Blues footballer because I'm a Coventry City season ticket holder.
"I'm hoping he will be able to come, but there are a few things to sort out."
Anyone who would like to sponsor John, should phone him on 024 7674 9714.
