 Tractor, 33-year-old Brad Hauter will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record and help benefit the Keep America Beautiful Keep America Beautiful is an environmental organization founded in 1953. It is the largest community improvement organization in the United States, with over 560 affiliate organizations (similar to local chapters) and more than 15,000 participating communities in their signature (R) Great American Cleanup(TM) with a voluntary donation of $100,000 from the Yard-Man Mow Across America.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance. Not many people can say they traveled across the U.S. on a lawnmower or helped to benefit a worthy cause such as the Keep America Beautiful(R) Great American Cleanup(TM)," said Hauter. "I can't think of a better way to see the countryside than on the new Yard-Man tractor. And at 10 mph, I don't think I will miss a thing."

Hauter will travel approximately 60 days and more than 4,500 miles in an attempt to break the current Guinness World Record of 3,500 miles for the longest distance traveled on a riding mower mower, farm machine used for cutting grasses and other hay crops. Mowers, drawn by or attached to tractors, or self-propelled, have superseded scythes. The mower is essentially an adaptation of the much earlier reaper. Corporate donations and proceeds from T-shirt sales will help comprise the $100,000 voluntary donation the Yard-Man Mow Across America will make to the Keep America Beautiful(R) Great American Cleanup(TM). In addition, each individual who takes a photo of Brad Hauter during the Yard-Man Mow Across America and submits a $2 check to the same address will receive a Yard-Man Mow Across America T-shirt and an opportunity to have the photo posted on the Yard-Man Mow Across America Web site at www.yardman.com.

To help support the Great American Cleanup(TM), top radio stations along the route will host "The Yard-Man Breakfast Special" at local restaurants. Participants can meet the rider and enter raffles awarding the winner a new Yard-Man tractor. MTD Products Inc not only will sponsor the Yard-Man Mow Across America, but also make a significant donation to the Keep America Beautiful(R) Great American Cleanup(TM). In addition, engine manufacturer Briggs & Stratton and Shell Gasoline have committed to making a donation to the Yard-Man Mow Across America which will benefit the Keep America Beautiful(R) Great American Cleanup(TM).
