the company. The On-Line Profilometer measures the extrusion profile as it is being conveyed. This actual measurement is compared to a design template or the desired profile and its allowable limits. Each design permits the recognition of various measurement parameters such as overall width, shoulder width, locations from center and various thicknesses. An optional alarm tower provides for unattended monitoring of out-of-tolerance conditions. The OLP uses the company's sheet-of-light laser triangulation sensors Optical Triangulation Sensors
Optical Triangulation Sensors are commonly used to provide door mounted safety detection on swinging automatic doors. In North America, these types of sensors are very common and manufactured in very high volumes.
to acquire several thousand measurement points for each cycle, at rates up to five cycles per second. Unlike most other online profiling systems, the OLP makes the profile measurement simultaneously across the profile, according to the company. It does not scan side-to-side in a z-pattern. This simultaneous measurement is said to be more accurate than traditional scanning systems. The OLP is available in three standard widths, including 300 ram, 450 mm and 600 mm. All sizes have a 60 mm thickness range.
