SKATEBOARDER KILLER GETS SENTENCED

SAN DIEGO -- The man who gunned down a Lomita teenager for skateboarding was sentenced 50 years to life Monday. Ruben Tapeda shot and killed 17-year-old Raymond Lang as he and a group of friends were skateboarding in front of Tadepa's home on Encinitas Avenue last November. Tadepa, 45, admitted to shooting Lang with a rifle from 15-feet away. Lang and several friends were making a skateboarding documentary in front of Tadepa's house. Tadepa apparently had a long-running feud with the group. Tadepa had originally pleaded not guilty to the crime, but late in October he changed his mind and admitted guilt, apparently hoping to earn a lighter sentence.--KGTV
