SKATEBOARD BASH EARNS JAIL TERM

A drunken drifter who bashed an elderly pedestrian across the head with skateboard, then attacked a young woman moments later with the same weapon, has been jailed for seven months. The 68-year-old victim was hospitalised after Richard Paul Boyd clubbed him with the skateboard while walking along Broadbeach Nerang Road near Jupiters Casino. Boyd, 40, yesterday pleaded guilty in the Southport court to serious assault on the pensioner PENSIONER. One who is supported by an allowance at the will of another. It is more usually applied to him who receives an annuity or pension from the government.  and to causing actual bodily harm to the 24-year-old pedestrian. Boyd initially told police the attacks mere an accident but later said his victims had looked a hi the wrong way.
