Omdasji Divine Sound CD Now Available; Biophysical Data is Recorded--Sacred Song Documented to Bring Inner Peace.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Guru Omdasji, a master yogi yo·gi
n. pl. yo·gis
One who practices yoga.

tradition, is currently visiting the United States from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Guru Omdasji spent the last 30 years perfecting himself through different austerities in India, developing the ability to transfer divine power directly into people through the vehicle of sound. This transfer puts listeners into a deep meditative state, also known as Samadhi samadhi (səmä`dē), a state of deep absorption in the object of meditation, and the goal of many kinds of yoga. In Buddhism the term refers to any state of one-pointed concentration. . Until recently, this sound had never been recorded by modern technology, and Omdasji's Divine Sound CD is now available.

Last year, in one of the first experiments of its kind, Omdasji worked with researchers from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology is a private, non-sectarian graduate school accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Founded in 1975, the campus is located in Palo Alto, California.  in Palo Alto, California “Palo Alto” redirects here. For other uses, see Palo Alto (disambiguation).

. While Guru Omdasji performed a nearly hour-long sacred song that optimizes the harmonious interplay of body, mind and spirit, the researchers digitally recorded a broad range of biophysical information from audience members. In the Kundalini tradition, the performance of this sacred song is an ancient and rare practice. This event was the first time that physical responses to the presentation of Divine Sound, or Brahamanada, were measured with state-of-the-art biophysical feedback equipment.

In a controlled environment, the researchers had six people (three men and three women) connected to technology that measures and analyzes changes in brainwave patterns. Three of the six participants also underwent heart rate, body temperature, skin response and other measurements to assess reactivity to the sound.

Subjectively, the meditation gave participants 'wonderful' experiences of 'ecstatic bliss' and 'deep inner peace.' Some claimed to have visions, while others expressed relief from the symptoms of long-term illnesses and depression.

Biophysical responses over the course of listening to the Divine Sound included high amplitude bursts in the beta range (4-7Hz) of the brain's left hemisphere while the right hemisphere remained stable (similar to what has been reported in hypnagogic hypnagogic /hyp·na·gog·ic/ (hip?nah-goj´ik)

states; these latter states have been shown to be characteristic of deep meditation.

Correlation analysis will help determine the significance of these and other recorded phenomena. As a first step toward further research on Guru Omdasji and his Divine Sound, a more comprehensive analysis will be performed and a final paper will be produced on this preliminary session.

Elizabeth Maier, who has been studying meditation with Guru Omdasji, participated in the research study at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. "This is an experiential discipline you can take into every moment of your life," says Maier. "The experience of Divine Sound can take you to a place that might take years to get to otherwise. That has been my experience working with other forms of meditation."

A simple man who became a monk at the age of nine, Guru Omdasji has dedicated his life to help mankind achieve peace. Omdasji's Divine Sound CD is now available at www.cdbaby.com/omdasji for $20.00 USD USD
