Olympians back stadium plan.


State legislative leaders and former Olympians are supporting the City's Jets stadium project on the Manhattan's far West Side.

Last week, a handful supporters held a press conference on the steps of City Hall to voice their support for the proposed New York New York, state, United States

"This project is an important economic stimulus for all New Yorkers," said Wright who represents Harlem.

The proposed facility is expected to serve as a catalyst for the development of the Hudson Yards into a lively and vibrant community with the addition of parks, plazas and waterfront access.

The NYSCC will not only will host sporting events and major concerts, but it will double as a first class convention center, hosting more than 40 events a year that generate more than $38 million in tax revenue to the city and the state.

Added Towns, "'The New York Jets
    The New York Jets are a professional American football team based in the New York metropolitan area. They are members of the Eastern Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL).
     have offered $800 million dollars of private investment to build a venue for the city which will generate $80 million in new annual revenue that we would not otherwise see. This is an opportunity that we cannot afford to lose."
