After an extensive career in general management positions with Baxter Healthcare Corp., Bergheim joined Domain Associates in 1995 where he has been responsible for the creation of numerous medical device and biotech companies, including Chimeric Therapies, VenPro, 3F Therapeutics, Orqis Medical, Volcano Therapeutics, Symphony Therapeutics (formerly Rhythm Therapeutics), and Glaukos Corp. During his 18 years at Baxter, he was president of Immunotherapy Worldwide, president of BioTech Europe, and president of Baxter in Germany and, most recently as corporate group vice president and president of Baxter's $700-million Cardiovascular Group (now Edwards Lifesciences). In addition, Bergheim serves on the board of directors of Vascular Architects, an emerging vascular start-up company.
