Okidata today introduced the OKIOFFICE 44, a fully integrated desktop solution for the user who needs printing, faxing, copying and scanning in one machine.

Designed to be economical and easy to use, the OKIOFFICE 44 includes a professional quality printer (faster printing with better quality than inkjet), a high-speed fax with 14.4 Kbps modem (capable of transmission speeds up to 6 seconds per page), a personal copier and a scanner with Optical Character Recognition optical character recognition (OCR), method for the machine-reading of typeset, typed, and, in some cases, hand-printed letters, numbers, and symbols using optical sensing and a computer.  (OCR OCR

The OKIOFFICE 44 can also be used as a standalone convenience copier, as well as provide customized copy options through the JetSuite(R) software. JetSuite(R) lets the user scan documents as document files, reduce or enlarge them, rotate them, format them to fit 1, 2 or 4 images on a sheet of paper, and collate col·late

The TWAIN-compatible OKIOFFICE 44 scanner delivers up to 200 x 400 dpi resolution utilizing a direct contact sensor. Scan area is 8.5" W x 5" to 14" L, and a 2 level/dither mode provides 16 grayscale In computing, a grayscale or greyscale digital image is an image in which the value of each pixel is a single sample. Displayed images of this sort are typically composed of shades of gray, varying from black at the weakest intensity to white at the strongest, though in  levels. The included Optional Character Recognition software eliminates keystroking and provides the means to input, modify and store files in full document formats. This eliminates the need to store large quantities of paper while allowing quick document retrieval when needed.

Energy Star Rating

The OKIOFFICE 44 complies with the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star(R) energy-efficient program, signifying low power usage by computers and peripherals. The printer's Power Save Mode automatically reduces power usage to less than 20 watts when it is inactive.
