Oki Electric and KDDI Team-Up to Deploy Mobile Solutions for Enterprises; Collaboration Based on KDDI's Wireless LAN Business Handset, E02SA.


TOKYO -- Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:6703) and KDDI Corporation (TOKYO:9433) today announced an agreement to collaborate in providing mobile solutions for the enterprise market using E02SA, KDDI's "au" mobile phone equipped with wireless LAN A local area network that transmits over the air typically in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz unlicensed frequency band. It does not require line of sight between sender and receiver. Wireless base stations (access points) are wired to an Ethernet network and transmit a radio frequency over an area  functionality. Based on this agreement, Oki will provide mobile solutions for enterprises in Japan, starting October 2006.

installed at each location into one location for easier management and

costs, maximize the usage of existing equipment, and connect with
internal business applications.

(2) Mobile Centrex:
This is a private IP Centrex using mobile IP handsets. By using mobile
terminals, users will not be limited to their seats or locations,
providing a new type of work style.
