Oki Electric Launches New Key Telephone System Compliant with Next Generation Networks and Fixed Mobile Convergence.


IPstage[R] MX and IPstage SX to Be Offered in Japan and Overseas Markets

TOKYO -- Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:6703) today released two new key telephone systems with full scale IP telephony The two-way transmission of voice over a packet-switched IP network, which is part of the TCP/IP protocol suite. The new IP and mobile function business phones are equipped with Oki's voice and video technologies "eSound[TM]" and "eVideo[TM]" to provide advanced and high-quality service. IPstage MX can be used for offices with under 100 extensions and IPstage SX for offices with under 30 extensions.

In addition to the function for IP multifunctional telephones, the two models also work as a mobile terminals in and out of the office, as they include wireless LAN A local area network that transmits over the air typically in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz unlicensed frequency band. It does not require line of sight between sender and receiver. Wireless base stations (access points) are wired to an Ethernet network and transmit a radio frequency over an area  dual network handsets, which until now have been included only in Oki's large-scale IP telephony systems.
