Oil Scouts Donate Over $10,000 to Disaster Relief.
The International Oil Scouts Association (IOSA) and its district scouting associations have given over $10,000 to the American Red Cross for the tragic events on September 11, 2001. The IOSA, based in Houston, Texas, was chartered in 1924. Its mission is to promote scouting and the petroleum industry. The district scouting associations it represents are The Offshore Oil Scouts Association based in Metairie, Louisiana, The Houston Oil Scouts Association based in Houston, Texas, The South Louisiana Oil Scouts Association based in Metairie, Louisiana, and the Canadian Association of Petroleum Information Specialists based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The scouting associations donated over $5,000 and the IOSA matched those funds. President of the IOSA, Scott Sapaugh with Pioneer Natural Resources, said, "The events on September 11 have affected us all within the scouting profession and we are proud to be able to do our part."
