. The award was presented by IPAA's Vice Chairman Diemer True at a luncheon on the final day of IPAA's annual meeting.

The Unsell Award was designed as a way for the IPAA to recognize journalists that have helped audiences better understand the petroleum industry and demonstrates insight, thoughtfulness, and perspective concerning petroleum industry issues. The intent of the award is to encourage other journalists to explain to readers and viewers not just what is happening in the petroleum industry but why it is happening and how today's events influence the future of the nation.
