Ohio Students to Test Internet Voting; Thousands of Students to Participate in Election Day Test in Ohio's Clark County.


SPRINGFIELD, Ohio Springfield is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Clark CountyGR6. The municipality is located in southwestern Ohio and is situated on the Mad River and Buck Creek, approximately 45 miles (72 km) west of Columbus and 25 miles (40 .--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 1, 1999--

Young voters in nine Clark County Clark County is the name of twelve counties in the United States of America:

 schools, outside Springfield, Ohio, will have an opportunity to test Internet voting tomorrow.

The local Kids Voting program is one of three pilot projects sanctioned by Kids Voting USA to test an Internet voting experience for students. The voting test is being conducted with the assistance of VoteHere.net, the Kirkland, Washington-based leader in secure Internet election services. This is the only Internet voting project scheduled to take place in Ohio this year. In addition to casting a ballot on the same candidates and issues their parents will consider, students will answer several Kids Voting Ohio survey questions. Over 6,000 students have registered to vote in this study.

VoteHere.net, the secure Internet Voting company will implement the project for Kids Voting Ohio. Internet voting uses a cryptographic system to secure the information and prevent voter fraud. VoteHere.net has been conducting a series of tests this year to prove the viability of their system and to further validate that Internet voting is a viable way to cast a ballot.
