Ohio Edison.


Ohio Edison Edison, township (1990 pop. 88,680), Middlesex co., NE N.J., inc. 1870 as Raritan Township, renamed 1954. Edison's varied manufactures include light trucks, chemicals, metal products, electrical and electronic equipment, machinery, and instruments.  

Ohio Edison was granted permission by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), independent agency of the U.S. government, with headquarters in Washington, D.C. It was established in 1970 to reduce and control air and water pollution, noise pollution, and radiation and to ensure the safe handling and  to install equipment at its Toronto, OH power generating plant that will use waste tires. The Akron, OH-based utility can begin working on a system that could dispose of dis·pose

1. To place or set in a particular order; arrange.

2.
 up to 6 million waste tires a year and generate the energy equivalent of 330,000 barrels of oil. The system should be in operation by early next year.
