Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation Orders Additonial Indetix TouchPrint 600 Live-Scan Units for Statewide Law Enforcement Network; Contract Valued at $1.2 Million.

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 16, 1998--Identix Inc. (ASE:IDX), a leader worldwide in live-scan identification and biometric identification verification systems, Thursday announced that the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI&I), an agency of the State Attorney General's office, has submitted a purchase order for 26 additional Identix TouchPrint 600 live-scan units.

The units will be installed throughout Ohio law enforcement agencies, linking police and sheriff's departments with BCI&I's TRW Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) facility near Columbus.

The revenues from the order, which shipped in March 1998, were approximately $1.2 million.

According to Ohio Attorney General Betty D. Montgomery, as with the earlier contract for 23 units, BCI&I will place, at no cost to the recipients, a number of TP-600s with the police and sheriff's departments that send the most fingerprint cards to BCI&I. In addition to the BCI&I purchases, the contract also permits those law enforcement agencies throughout the state who have sufficient budgets to purchase the Identix TouchPrint 600 system.
