Oh, that dreaded "C" word.

Change.

It's quite fascinating, change ... change in how business is conducted, in customer demographics, in the marketplace.

It used to be the concerns of a 6,000 head dairy producer in Kansas centered on cow health or BST (convention) BST - British Summer Time. The name for daylight-saving time in the UK GMT time zone. . Now he views himself as a "portfolio" farmer, and his business is construction and management.

The old rules of doing business simply don't work with this new breed of producer. So, we scramble to adjust our processes to build adequate market share in this changing marketplace.

NAMA Na·ma
n. pl. Nama or Na·mas
1. A member of a people of southwest Africa.

2. The Khoikhoin language of the Nama.
isn't immune to change either. A constant churn in member value needs has driven NAMA to identify new value opportunities. As a result, two key research initiatives were implemented, bringing to light significant strengths and growth opportunities.

Contacts, Information, Recognition, Networking, and Connections ... all received high marks. Member satisfaction remains high, and NAMA is perceived as a strong leader in the industry it serves. This year's Boot Camp Software from Apple that enables an Intel x86-based Macintosh to host the Windows XP operating system. Boot Camp is used to divide the hard disk into Windows and Mac partitions, to install the necessary drivers and to create a dual boot environment.  and Sales seminars simply reinforced NAMA's focus on meeting today's needs for tomorrow's growth.

Change within NAMA is constant. The challenges continue. We wouldn't have it any other way.

This is my last Leader's Message. I have thoroughly enjoyed my seven years on the Executive Committee, confronting its challenges, and working side by side with devoted NAMA members who make this organization strong and vibrant. There is no better industry in which to work, and people with which to work. Become a part of it.
