Ethics Interpretation

INTERPRETATIONS UNDER RULE 101--INDEPENDENCE

In performing an attest engagement, a member should consult the rules of his or her state board of accountancy, his or her state CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000.  society, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) if the member's report will be filed with the SEC, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL DOL - Display Oriented Language. Such organizations may have independence requirements or rulings that differ from (e.g., may be more restrictive than) those of the AICPA.
