Office furniture deal-maker, Howard Safir, 37, dies.


Howard Safir Howard Safir (born 1941 in the Bronx, New York) was New York City Fire Commissioner from 1994 to 1996 and New York City Police Commissioner from 1996 to 2000.

Safir was appointed New York City's 29th Fire Commissioner of the City of New York by Mayor Rudolph W.
, director of business development with Waldner's Business Environments, Inc., died on Saturday July 29, 2006. He was 37.

With ambition, ingenuity and a passion for helping others, Howard led a successful career in the office furniture industry, constantly touching the lives of his colleagues and clients alike.

Formerly a major account and dealer market manager with Steelcase and vice president of interiors for MSL See multiple single-level. , Howard joined Waldner's Business Environments in June 2006.
