Office Depot Donates Telephone System Valued at $52,000 to FAU.

Phone and Voice Mail System is Expected to Augment University's Communication Infrastructure for Up to Six Years

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- Office Depot (NYSE:ODP), a leading global provider of office products and services, announced the Company has donated an enterprise-level Siemens HiCom phone and voicemail system to Florida Atlantic University. The donation includes two phone systems that support 5,000 phone lines and 4,000 mailboxes, and more than 100 higher-end executive telephones. The system is valued at approximately $52,000.

FAU, which currently uses the Siemens phone system at all of its seven South Florida campuses, intends to use the donated system to back-up and supplement the university's existing infrastructure.

"The real benefit of our donation to FAU is that the phones are a perfect match to the university's current system," said Mike Manis, Vice President of Global Technology Shared Services for Office Depot. "Essentially, this helps expand and extend the life of FAU's current system in order to support the university's rapid growth."

The donation is another example of Office Depot's commitment to education. Earlier this year as part of the Office Depot Education and Diversity Partnership Program, the Company contributed $4.5M to higher education, including $2M to FAU for construction of a new Center for Executive Education in the College of Business.
