Leading Logistics Outsourcer Strengthens Service Offering; Trusted

Freight-Forwarding Provider Brings More Than 40 Years of Experience

Odyssey Logistics & Technology Corporation, a provider of outsourced logistics management services to process manufacturers, today announced a definitive agreement to acquire Nordstrom Freighting Corporation, a freight forwarding company. Since its founding in 1960, Nordstrom has offered full-service international freight forwarding services to the chemical, process manufacturing and consumer packaged goods industries. This acquisition will provide Odyssey customers with a more complete end-to-end solution and a proven and trusted partner in freight forwarding. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Nordstrom utilizes the most sophisticated solutions for freight forwarding and was the first company to file a transmission of export data to the U.S. Customs Automated Export System via AES Weblink, a Web-enabled mechanism. Freight forwarding, or global trading, has traditionally been contracted out to third-party providers. According to Odyssey CEO Robert Shellman, the Nordstrom acquisition will enable Odyssey to offer these services in-house, in conjunction with its own comprehensive, Net-native technology solutions, eliminating the need for paperwork and streamlining trade processes.
