Oceanside Coca-Cola workers vote for teamsters representation.

Workers at Coca-Cola Enterprises' Oceanside facility voted for Teamsters union representation in an Aug. 3 election overseen by the National Labor Relations Board. Local 683 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters will represent the 75 workers.

The Oceanside facility, opened in February, was originally nonunion, sparking outcries from other Coca-Cola facilities nationwide. Workers contacted the Teamsters union in February, and then voted for representation in pursuit of better wages and benefits.

Bob Phillips, vice president of public affairs for Coca-Cola Enterprises' West business unit, said: "We respect the NLRB election process. Whether from a bargaining or nonbargaining unit, we have always treated our employees with dignity and respect."
