Oceana towers to rise in Brooklyn.

With two buildings completely sold out and two others rapidly heading in that direction, foundations are being poured for the first two tower buildings at Oceana, the new luxury residential community under construction on the oceanfront in the Brighton Beach section of Brooklyn.

The newest buildings -- the development's fifth and sixth -- will rise 12 stories in height and feature elegant tower residences, with spectacular ocean and Manhattan skyline views. Residents will begin moving into Oceana's first buildings within the next few months.

"Sales have been so strong, we've moved up our construction schedule to accommodate demand," noted Oceana director of sales George A. Paliatsos, who said that in the ten months since the on-site sales office opened, more than 180 apartments have been sold.

"One of the keys to our success is that we're able to offer an incredible variety of residences, priced from the high $200,000's for a beautiful two-bedroom home to more than $1 million for a magnificent penthouse with a sweeping terrace."

One of the largest luxury housing communities to be built in New York City outside of Manhattan in more than half a century, Oceana will ultimately contain up to 850 apartments in 15 six to twelve-story buildings, supported by an exceptional array of recreational facilities and luxury amenities.

This showcase community is being built by a partnership headed by Muss Development Company, of Forest Hills, a fourth-generation real estate company. The property is bounded by the beach and the ocean, Brighton Beach Ave., and by the community of Manhattan Beach. The development is situated in one of New York City's most vibrant neighborhoods, just steps from the Boardwalk, cafes, shops, and transportation to Manhattan.

Oceana's 2 seven-story waterfront buildings now under construction contain a total of 100 apartments, most with dramatic ocean views. The two-and three-bedroom residences are spacious (averaging nearly 1,300 SF) and feature 9'-high ceilings, master baths with elegant Italian "Crema Marfil" marble tile, and glamorous pass-through kitchens, most. The 12-story, high-rise buildings contain 68 units each.

More than two acres of land at the site are devoted to recreational facilities. They include a one-acre park, and the fabulous club Oceana, with outdoor pools, sundeck areas surrounded by lushly landscaped grounds, and a fully equipped and staffed health club and spa.

Other amenities at Oceana include a staffed gatehouse, parking for 1,200 cars, beautifully landscaped grounds, 24-hour security, and high-tech telecommunications including, built-in high-speed Internet connections in every residence.

Oceana features a condominium form of ownership, maintained and governed by a Homeowners Association (HOA). The development is distinguished by its gabled and mansard roofs, abundant, oversized windows, large balconies, and strong angular design inspired by classic turn-of-the-century architecture.
