McGraw-Hill specialty review

RG101

Using a vignette and question format, this resource explains clinical and educational concepts selected for their relevance in clinical practice and test preparation. The book's 150 clinical vignettes cover the full spectrum of OB/GYN, and a chapter on general issues covers topics such as domestic violence, medical ethics, and obesity. Each vignette gives a brief, illustrated clinical presentation (one or two figures per vignette), and presents questions and answers on the diagnosis and management of a particular case. Supporting this real-world, bedside perspective are references for all of the evidence-based answers, plus brief explanations that call attention to key concepts and information. The book will serve as a practical reference and review for residents, medical students, practicing physicians, nurse practitioners, and other allied health professionals. Azziz is affiliated with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Hello,

I would be grateful if you can help me. I am sufferingf from PCOS we are trying to conceive. I was advised two courses of progesterone for 2 cycles. Then, for the third cycle, I was advised Femara 2.5 mg, starting from day 3 thru day 7. However, 4 days after stopping femara, which was the 11th day of the cycle, I started bleeding vaginally.

Does this mean my chances of conceiving are less in this cycle?

Should I consider this to be the end of the cycle?

When shall i take the next course of femara?

Thanking you,
sheena

I am certain i have some type of vaginal infection. My husband and i have been monogamous since we met 6 years ago. So I'm almost certain it is not any STD ... I thought it was a mild yeast infection on set by antibiotics. i took the 2 dyflucan pills taken 3 days apart and it cleared up but , Its back... same symptoms and then some. My vagina is inflamed, red and itchy (but only just inside the opening). To be specific the skin of the inner walls which is usually completely inside is so inflamed or swollen that it is very visible. I have a heavy clear thick discharge that has started to have tinges of what may be puss . the discharge is clear but there are strands , i guess of an off white color in it. There is no odor. Also i have a Mirena IUD that was implanted after my 4th child was born over a year ago. Since i got the Mirena I have experienced bleeding after intercourse,( that usually turns into a light period for about three days) . I also have had a dull ( most times barely noticeable )lower abdominal pain and some times cervical discomfort. I'm concerned could this all mean that my IUD is infected or maybe even something worse?
