Obituary Dean Wiley, M.D.On a sad note, long-time AMAA AMAA Agricultural Marketing Agreement Act of 1937 AMAA American Medical Athletic Association AMAA American Maine-Anjou Association AMAA Afghan Medical Association of America AMAA Armenian Missionary Association of America, Inc. member Lea Stern, M.D., lost her husband to lymphoma on February 7. Dean Wiley, M.D., had run numerous races, including 13 marathons. He also qualified for and ran three Boston Marathons Boston marathon famous 26-mile race held annually for long-distance runners. Dr. Wiley was a psychiatrist for Sheppard Pratt in Baltimore, MD, and provided care to the 82nd airborne division during the first gulf war. He was air assault and airborne qualified, had his expert field medical badge The Expert Field Medical Badge is a United States Army decoration first created in 1965. This badge is the non-combat equivalent of the Combat Medical Badge and is awarded to medical personnel of the US Military who successfully complete a set of qualification tests including both and spent approximately 13 years on active duty, reaching the rank of lieutenant colonel in the army. Dean Wiley, M.D., was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery Arlington National Cemetery, 420 acres (170 hectares), N Va., across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.; est. 1864. More than 60,000 American war dead, as well as notables including Presidents William Howard Taft and John F. Kennedy, Gen. John J. on February 25, 2004 during a ceremony which included full military honors. He was 52. |
