Sarah Hallin

A memorial service will be held July 29 for Sarah A. Hallin of Eugene, who died July 23 of age-related causes. She was 94.

Hallin was born June 14, 1908, in Portland to Lester and Ellen Doty Poor. She graduated from Washington High School Washington High School may refer to:

 in Portland in 1926. In 1930, she graduated from Willamette University Willamette’s College of Liberal Arts is the undergraduate school on campus. The oldest of the graduate programs is the College of Law, founded in 1883 and located in the Truman Wesley Collins Legal Center.  in Salem. During her senior year, she was editor of the school newspaper .

She married Ralph Hallin in Port Orchard For the county seat of Kitsap County, see .

Hallin moved to Eugene in 1948.

She served on the board of directors for the Girl Scouts Girl Scouts, recreational and service organization founded (1912) in Savannah, Ga., by Mrs. Juliette Gordon Low (1860–1927). It was originally modeled after the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, organizations created in Great Britain by Sir Robert Baden-Powell during  and was president of the Lane County Republican Women and a guardian of Job's Daughters, Bethel 60.

Her interests included gardening, camping, fishing and hiking. She enjoyed spending time "Spending Time" is the first single released by Christian artist Stellar Kart.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Patti Luse of Eugene; a brother, Clarence Poor of Berkeley, Calif.; a sister, Frances Brown of Norcross, Ga.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A son, William "Bill" Hallin, died Sept. 9, 1953.

Margaret Russell Margaret Angele Russell is the current editor-in-chief of ELLE Décor magazine, an office she has held since July 2000. She is originally from New Canaan, Connecticut and graduated from Brown University.

Pulmonary fibrosis develops when the alveoli, tiny air sacs that transfer oxygen to the blood, become damaged and inflamed.
. She was 75.

Russell was born July 25, 1926, in Longville, Minn., to Richard and Eunice Ives Thompson.

She and her husband, Harold Russell, were married in Longville. He died June 30, 2001.

Russell moved to the Springfield area in 1960 and worked as a forklift operator at Agripac Inc.

Her interests included gardening, flowers, camping, family activities and quilting quilting, form of needlework, almost always created by women, most of them anonymous, in which two layers of fabric on either side of an interlining (batting) are sewn together, usually with a pattern of back or running (quilting) stitches that hold the layers . She volunteered with nursing home ministries.

Russell belonged to Hope Lutheran Church in Springfield. She was a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) is an auxiliary organization of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. It was founded in 1942 to support missionary work through the collection of "mites," spare change named for the small coins in the lesson of the widow's mite in .

Survivors include two sons, Richard and Gary, both of Springfield; three daughters, Delia "Dee" Wheeler of Springfield and Gail DeWitt and Pamela Haas, both of Eugene; two brothers, Kenneth Thompson of Springfield and Ronald Thompson of Prineville; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Saturday's service will be at 2 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church. Private inurnment will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lutheran Church for the sound system fund or for Life Lutheran School.

Lee Loughran

Lee John Loughran of Eugene died July 19 of age-related causes. He was 90.

Loughran was born June 25, 1912, in Palmer, Iowa, to John and Ida Peterson Loughran. He married Pearl Morel morel

He worked as a tool engineer at General Dynamics for 40 years. Loughran lived in Norwalk, Calif., before moving to this area 10 years ago. He enjoyed vegetable gar- dening.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Vicki Loughran of Irvine, Calif.; a son, John of Eugene; three sisters, Alice Rettman and Hazel Rettman, both of Buffalo Lake, Minn., and Mildred Nieberlie of El Monte, Calif.; and three grand- children.

No service is planned. Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

Alfred Traub

A memorial service will be held Aug. 3 for Alfred "Al" Traub of Eugene, who died July 21 of Alzheimer's disease Alzheimer's disease (ăls`hī'mərz, ôls–), degenerative disease of nerve cells in the cerebral cortex that leads to atrophy of the brain and senile dementia. . He was 83.

Traub was born Jan. 8, 1919, in Doon, Iowa, to Fred and Alma Lecht Traub. He married Francene Watson in Texas in April 1943. She died in November 1992. He married Venus Guida in Eugene on July 9, 1994.

He graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, Iowa Sioux Falls, Iowa is a location in Lyon County, Iowa. It is the nearest Iowa location to Blood Run Site, a National Historic Landmark that straddles the Iowa-South Dakota border. , in 1937. Traub served as a second lieutenant in the Army Air Corps in Panama in 1947. He owned Gehl Farm Machinery and Sales. Traub learned to play music by ear and enjoyed playing the piano, organ and guitar. He was a member of the the Open Bible Fellowship in Eugene, the Full Gospel Businessmen and Wheels Alive. In 1973, Traub began traveling as an evangelist. He settled in this area 10 years ago.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Alethalou Harmon and Carole Guida Combs, both of Eugene; a son, Dennis Guida of Redlands, Calif.; a brother, Norman of Sioux Falls; four sisters, Viola Byrd of Chula Vista, Calif., Marion Sonneman of Los Altos, Calif., Clara O'Hara of Florida, and Ruth Newberry of Tucson, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 3 at the Open Bible Fellowship in Eugene. American Burial & Cremation cremation, disposal of a corpse by fire. Alexander Hunt

SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be held July 29 for Alexander James Hunt of Springfield, who died July 22 of a brain aneurism. He was 9.

Hunt was born Jan. 13, 1993, in Eugene to Aaron and Kelly Patrick Hunt. He attended Elizabeth Page Elementary School in Springfield.

Andrew Nyman

A memorial service will be held July 27 for Andrew Paul Nyman of Eugene, who died July 23 from injuries he sustained in a car accident. He was 27.

Nyman was born March 22, 1975, in Northhampton, Mass., to Paul and Mary Fenlon Nyman.

He moved to this area from Westbrook, Conn., in 1995. Nyman graduated from Xavier High School in Middletown, Conn., and attended the University of Vermont and the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities. . He was an organic farmer, artisan and glass blower. Nyman enjoyed golf, snow boarding, skiing, basketball and soccer.

Survivors include his parents of Westbrook; a brother, Matthew of Westbrook; and a sister, Meredith of Boston.

Saturday's service will be held at 10 a.m. at Alton Baker Park Alton Baker Park is located in Eugene, Oregon, United States, near Autzen Stadium. It features duck ponds, bicycle trails, and a dog park, and directly touches the Ferry Street Bridge.  in Eugene. Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

Stephen Reynolds

Stephen Gerard Reynolds of Eugene, died July 19 at age 54. His family chose not to list the cause of death.

Reynolds was born March 15, 1948, in Portland to Joseph and Florence Vala Reynolds.

He was employed as an apartment maintenance worker. He was raised in the Catholic Church. Reynolds enjoyed running, fishing, hunting, camping, reading and gardening. He especially enjoyed animals.

Survivors include his stepfather, John Ryan of Portland; two daughters, Shannon Augustus of Woodburn and Erin Williams of La Grange, Ga.; a son, Ryan of Portland; and three sisters, Madeline, Susan and Kathy; and six grand- children.

No service has been planned. Buell Chapel in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.

Cyril "Cy" Crabtree of Eugene died July 23. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church, Springfield. Rest-Haven Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
