He was raised on sheep property in Rowena, New South Wales and has been performing since the mid 1950s. At the peak of his career, Lee had eight national #1 hits and produced five Gold Records. Graves of Veneta, who died Aug. 1 of cancer. He was 57. Graves was born Jan. 8, 1945, in Eugene to Leslie and Oviller Huddleston Graves. He attended Elmira High School
He married Mary Geddings in Eugene on May 23, 1964. Graves worked in a mill and was a courier for U.S. Bank. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His interests also included playing the guitar, panning for gold, spending time "Spending Time" is the first single released by Christian artist Stellar Kart. The lyrics describe the band members desire to spend "more time with God". "Sometimes it’s a real struggle to spend time with God. with family and friends, camping and four-wheeling in his Jeep. He belonged to the Gold Prospectors Association of America The Gold Prospectors Association of America is an organization that is dedicated to finding and mining gold on a small or recreational scale. It has gold claims across America and members can work the claims for a yearly fee. The club is headquartered in Temecula, California. and was a co-founder and past president of Lane County Drifters 4x4 Jeep Club. Graves also volunteered with the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Leslie Berry and Lisa Rignell, both of Eugene, and Linda Lay of Veneta; two sisters, Melvina Shoemaker of Gilchrist and Jeanne Stark of Spokane; and five grandchildren. A daughter, Lonna Graves, died in 1964. Monday's service will be held at 11 a.m. at Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859. The rail, trade, and processing center of an agricultural and dairy area, it grew as the supply point for nearby Fort Riley, . Burial will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City. Ray Thomas of Eugene died July 25 of a heart attack. He was 60. Thomas was born Feb. 15, 1942, in Benton, Ky., to Merle merle a pattern of coat color pigmentation with dark, irregular blotches on a lighter background. Seen in some Collies and Welsh corgis. In shorthaired dogs, e.g. Great Danes and Dachshunds, the similar pattern is called dapple. and Virginia Wheeler Thomas. He married Marcia Petersen in Eugene on Dec. 29, 1974. He lived in Cedar Rapids Cedar Rapids, city (1990 pop. 108,751), seat of Linn co., E central Iowa, on the Cedar River; inc. as a city 1856. The second largest city in Iowa, it is named for the surging rapids in the river. , Iowa, before moving to this area 30 years ago. Thomas was an owner/operator truck driver. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and boating. Thomas was a member of the Elks Lodge 476 in Yuma, Ariz., the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society and the Family Motor Coach Association. Survivors include his wife; a son, Shawn of Van Horne, Iowa Van Horne is a city in Benton County, Iowa, United States. The population was 716 at the 2000 census. Elizabeth Burrowes Elizabeth C. Burrowes of Eugene died July 27 of pneumonia. She was 79. Burrowes was born May 5, 1923, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., to John and Clara Wicklane Picozzi. She married John Burrowes in Reno, Nev., on March 7, 1943. She grew up in Southern California and graduated from Bakersfield High School Bakersfield High School (BHS) is a high school located in Bakersfield, California, USA. First founded in 1893 as Kern County High School, changed to Kern County Union High School in 1915, and finally to Bakersfield High School in 1945. . She moved to Roseburg after World War II and lived in Grand Junction, Colo., and Walla Walla, Wash., before moving to Eugene in 1975. She worked as a cook and waitress at the Rotunda rotunda In Classical and Neoclassical architecture, a building or room that is circular in plan and covered with a dome. The Pantheon is a Classical Roman rotunda. The Villa Rotonda at Vicenza, designed by Andrea Palladio, is an Italian Renaissance example. Restaurant at Meier & Frank in Eugene. She enjoyed gardening and her dogs. Survivors include her husband and a daughter, Anne Burrowes of Eugene. No services are planned. Paul Stuart A private service was held for Paul Leonard Stuart of La Pine, formerly of Eugene, who died July 15 of heart disease. He was 73. Stuart was born Aug. 23, 1928, in Lyons, Kan.. He married Janet Dallas in Woodland, Wash., on Jan. 13, 1949. He served in the Army as a military police officer during World War II. He worked for Lane Transit District in Eugene for 17 years and received many awards for his service. Stuart moved to La Pine from Eugene in 1990. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and hunting. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kenneth of Pacific, Wash., and Roger of Union; a daughter, Sandra Hewitt of Powell Butte; four brothers, Ralph of Arizona, Carl of Battle Ground, Wash., Bobby of Portland and Lesley of Lyle, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. Box 10, La Pine, OR 97739. William McDonald SPRINGFIELD - A private family service will be held for William Keith McDonald of Springfield, who died July 29 of age-related causes. He was 81. McDonald was born Sept. 12, 1920, in Indianapolis to Thomas and Ethel Kimmell McDonald. He married his wife, Mary- Ellen, in Covington, Ky., on June 23, 1944. He grew up in Marion County, Ind., and graduated from high school in 1938. He served in the Navy as a medic medic: see alfalfa. in the South Pacific during World War II and received a bachelor's degree from Butler University in Indianapolis in 1949. He worked as a medical service representative for Parke-Davis until 1950, when he moved to California. He received a teaching degree from California State Northridge and taught in California for a year before moving to Arizona. He received a master's degree in chemistry from Arizona State University Arizona State University, at Tempe; coeducational; opened 1886 as a normal school, became 1925 Tempe State Teachers College, renamed 1945 Arizona State College at Tempe. Its present name was adopted in 1958. and taught high school in Wickenburg, Ariz., for six years and at Alta Loma High School Established in 1963, Alta Loma High School is a comprehensive public secondary school located in Rancho Cucamonga, California. As a member of the Chaffey Joint Union High School District, the school employs roughly 150 staff members that serve 3000 students. and Chaffey Junior College, both in Ontario, Calif. He also taught at a private high school in Sedona, Ariz., before retiring in 1981. After his retirement, he worked as a photographer for three years and settled in Springfield in 1986. His interests included collecting movies, woodworking and pho- tography. He enjoyed music and was a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America. He also belonged to St. John the Divine Episcopal Church in Springfield. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael of Kelso, Wash., and Douglas of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Harold of Tacoma; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
