Matthew Bleth A private service will be held for Matthew J. "Matt" Bleth of Prescott, Ariz., who died July 19 of complications of pneumonia. The former Eugene resident was 96. Bleth was born Jan. 6, 1906. He and his wife, Camille, were married 55 years. Bleth lived in Eugene for more than 50 years. After the death of his wife, he moved to Studio City, Calif. He moved to Prescott in 1994. He enjoyed the forest and its wildlife. Survivors include two daughters, JoAnn Murphy of Prescott and Jeannine Ohrling of Green Valley, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was 87. Kidwell was born Sept. 11, 1914, in North Fork, Ark., to William and Effie Beard Hamilton. She married Willie Kidwell in Newark, Ark., in August of 1928. He died in February of 1976. She lived in Sacramento before settling in Cottage Grove 28 years ago. Kidwell was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting quilting, form of needlework, almost always created by women, most of them anonymous, in which two layers of fabric on either side of an interlining (batting) are sewn together, usually with a pattern of back or running (quilting) stitches that hold the layers , African violets and gardening. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Mills and Betty Kidwell, both of Cottage Grove; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild. Thursday's service will be at 10 a.m. at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes in Sacramento. Burial will will be at Sunset Lawn Memorial Park in Sacramento. Etchemendy enjoyed gardening, canning and her family. Survivors include seven sons, Jerry, Dennis and David Nelson of Tulsa, Okla., Danny Nelson of Bakersfield, Calif., Bobby and Lee Nelson of Springfield and James Nelson of Yuba City, Calif.; two daughters, Betty Wheeler of Springfield and Vontreva Morgan of Olympia; three sisters, Dorene Adams of Springdale, Ark., Barbara Mendoza of Fresno, Calif., and Edna Myers of Chino Chino (chē`nō), city (1990 pop. 59,682), San Bernardino co., S Calif.; founded 1887, inc. 1910.
